SXSW.com Bedford blog.

Posted 20th Mar 2009

From sxsw.com:

The Legendary Bedford in London is a venue that has spent many years playing a pivotal part in the development of emerging music in the UK. From it's attention to sonic detail to its dynamically hosted shows, The Bedford has been the breeding ground for acts such as Paolo Nutini, James Morrison, Amy Macdonald and many more. With a wealth of experience and passion for performance, it seemed only logical to try and export this original philosophy and bring some of the best new and established UK performers to a wider audience around the world.

Tony Moore (whose background includes being a founding member of Iron Maiden as well as keyboardist for Cutting Crew) has been director of Music, Art and Development at The Bedford for over 7 years. He and the creative team are thrilled and honoured to have been invited to Austin for the first time this year, and are looking forward to making their part of the festival into a successful and exciting show that brings a new dimension to SXSW.

The Bedford lineup features a fantastic array of acts including some not to be missed performances from The Proclaimers on Saturday March 21st at 11pm (first acoustic duo tour in 15years), The Webb Sisters at 12 midnight on Thursday March 19th (currently on tour with Leonard Cohen) and the gorgeous Lucie Silvas from London on Friday March 20 at 11pm. Make sure to check out the complete lineup of all the talented artists playing over three evenings at The Bedford located at the beautifully remodeled Creekside at Hilton Garden Inn.

Rehearsals for the next leg of the Leonard Cohen tour took place in Hollywood, California and The Webb Sisters have just departed for Europe to get things underway. The band line up remains the same as the recent sell-out leg of the tour in Canada and Europe, though there will be some changes to the set lists with some new and some old favourite songs work their way into the set.

The unofficial tour dates can be found HERE and keep checking back as more dates become confirmed and announced.

Recording Sessions

Posted 17th Sept 2008

The Webb Sisters have been in the studio working with Grammy winning producer Peter Asher while on a short break from the Leonard Cohen Tour. Charley and Hattie spent their well earned time off to work on recording some brand new material for an EP. The new material is an exciting mix of a capella and acoustic songs and some with a full band - plus we hear rumors that there may be a recognizable cover in there too. Keep on checking back for more updates, and a sneak peak of whats to come plus stories, photos and footage from the road.

European Dates

Posted 12th Sept 2008
